Enneagram Test: Kain

You can learn a lot for an Enneagram test. I honestly prefer it to the Myers Briggs Type Indicator. Psychiatrists are known to use it from time to time. The way that it concentrates on how one handles emotions and view their surroundings gently dives deep into how one tends to feel and think. If honestly taken, one can not only learn more about themself, but learn more about their partner or friend and plan ways to improve communication. As for me… I love how well it can help a writer. This week’s tester is Kain, son of Kaolin. His results are spot on. I hope you enjoy getting to know him!
What is Kain?
3 wing 2
"The Achiever"
"The Enthusiast"
Like LaTao, Kain is quite ambitious. He hopes to one day surpass literally anyone who has ever swung a sword. The biggest difference, however, is that he is far more personable. Where LaTao would rather be alone with a book, Kain fits perfectly in a crowd. He’s considerate with an honest and engaging smile. He can give an impromptu speech before the largest audience without the slightest change in heart rate. He’s known to woo ladies with ease and charm elders and children alike. In his hometown of Dorma, he’s known to befriend, be kind, and uplift all around him, though he will do so in a dominant fashion.
In the rest of Adeaus Kingdom, Kain is seen as a frighteningly gifted swordsman and a leader with excellent communication skills. In uniform, his influence raises the morale of those around him. In command, he lifts the spirits and invokes courage within those in his charge. To those struggling in his sight, he shows genuine empathy, blessing those in need of counsel and making them feel seen… but that is only when he’s in uniform.
That side of Kain is not one that LaTao and Sage often see. Kain’s “code-switching” is rather drastic. When he’s not trying to be “the perfect soldier,” he is a light-hearted comedian, and ridiculously competitive. Out of uniform, Kain wants three things: he wants to make his friends laugh, help his friends succeed, and most of all… he wants to find some way to challenge himself. That means practice, impromptu workouts, and finding a way to turn any fight into more of a challenge.
When it’s just his friends, he allows his emotions, impatience, and need for self-validation to take control. In both situations, his personas are due to how obsessed he is with how others see him. When it comes to bettering himself, he is a workaholic, quick to turn anything into an opportunity to practice or test himself… even if it puts lives at risk. Childish, I know… (and so does he)... but like Wesley from The Princess Bride, he’d rather duel left-handed than ruthlessly dispatch his opponent when he knows he has the advantage.
When I completed the test and the results were “3 wing 2” I found myself nodding along with the full description. Every site’s evaluation fits his complex nature. The fact that he is ambitious yet has goals based on how he wants to be seen and remembered is a big deal. How hard of a worker he is, the enthusiasm, the joy for life… just as spot on as the self-consciousness, impatience, his somewhat unhealthy need to be seen as strong, masculine, and respected… the good and the bad are all there as if the writer of the test was thinking about Kain himself.
I got a kick out of seeing how LaTao’s and Kain’s results mesh. The first thing my eyes darted to was the phrases “larger-than-life” and about both standing out from their peers. Their strengths and aligning goals enhance each other. They are both pragmatic about how competent the other is at their craft, giving themselves the freedom to rise to greater heights.

Loved getting to know "behind the soldier facade" part of Kain! Cannot wait to read about Sage!
